Postgame Teams Up With The V Foundation for Cancer Research

(Sarasota, FL) - Postgame is excited to announce our collaboration with The V Foundation for Cancer Research, helping the organization raise funds for pediatric cancer research throughout the month of September and the rest of 2024. This marks the launch of one of the first-ever NIL campaigns of its kind, uniting over 100 college athletes from across the nation who are using their social influence to support this important cause. Founded by ESPN and legendary basketball coach Jim Valvano, The V Foundation has awarded over $353 million in cancer research grants since 1993.

Postgame is thrilled to support these efforts through an innovative NIL campaign that leverages the Name, Image & Likeness of each athlete as they create multiple social media posts all in support of the V Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Research. Some recognizable names participating in the historic campaign include:

  • RJ Davis - University of North Carolina Basketball (First Team All-American)

  • Jeremy Roach - Baylor University Basketball

  • Hunter Dickinson - University of Kansas Basketball (Wooden Award All-American)

  • Trey Burton - Former NFL player (Eagles, Bears, Colts)

  • Devin Smeltzer - MLB pitcher (Marlins, Twins) - former childhood cancer survivor

  • Dylan Andrews - UCLA Basketball

“As these incredible athletes seek championships on the field, court or diamond, we are thrilled for them to join our team as we move closer to winning our championship – Victory Over Cancer®,” said V Foundation Chief Marketing Officer Roger Ferguson. “The only path to achieving Victory Over Cancer® is through funding game-changing research and all-star scientists. We are incredibly thankful for Postgame and the athletes participating who are supporting pediatric cancer research through this campaign.”

In honor of September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, each athlete participating in the campaign has been given their own donation link to drive contributions, with all proceeds benefiting the Dick Vitale Pediatric Cancer Research Fund. As this marks the campaign’s first run, Postgame aims to expand the collaboration with ongoing monthly campaigns with additional college athletes to ensure continued support for this vital cause.  Additionally, throughout this phase of the campaign, Postgame plans to make an additional donation as a percentage of all NIL payments being made to participating athletes by Postgame throughout 2024.

“I am thrilled that college athletes will play a vital role in raising dollars for PEDIATRIC CANCER RESEARCH thru THE V FOUNDATION,” said legendary sportscaster Dick Vitale. “One of my major goals in life is to see that youngsters battling this vicious disease have a great opportunity to win their battles. Research is the key & I tip my hat to all the college athletes that are stepping up to make that happen - Yes that is AWESOME BABY with a CAPITAL A!”

The Dick Vitale Pediatric Cancer research fund for the V Foundation has raised over $84 million to date, since 2005. Dick Vitale's Goal is to break $100 million this year through initiatives like this current partnership with Postgame as well as his Annual Dick Vitale Gala held at the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota, FL traditionally attended by a “Who’s Who” in the world of sports.

“As a childhood cancer survivor myself, it's important for me to give back by raising awareness and money for childhood cancer,” said Postgame Ops Manager Jake Taraska. “I am grateful to be in a position at Postgame to use our network of college athletes to help children battling cancer. Dick Vitale has done so much for childhood cancer and I am glad to be able to join him and The V Foundation in our mission to beat childhood cancer.”
